Spring is Almost Here

I like to see the early Spring migrants coming back for the season. I hear their singing late at night, a beautiful sign that Spring is right around the corner. These two little friends started to come into the backyard; I love when they visit me and I always make sure to have some food for them. Soon butterflies, bees, and other insects will join in, adding ambiance and beauty to the environment. Our gardens thrive with them, making everything alive and well. I’m looking forward the planting season and spending more time outdoors. Spring, a beautiful season that is always welcome in my world!

Valentines' Day

Another Valentines has come and go …

I enjoy seeing people getting together to celebrate this date with flowers, chocolates, and special meals. These are precious moments that we remember and treasure for many years to come.

Valentines has made me think about something I’ve recently read, ‘we are pure channels of God’s love’. So I was thinking: if we’re these channels of pure love, I believe our mission is to express our love for others and ourselves all the time, extending it beyond Valentines’ Day.

It feels good to make someone happy; sometimes all it takes is a sincere smile, a compliment, kind words, a small gesture, giving someone time to listen to what they’ve to say.

Acts of kindness can improve someone’s life no matter the time of year.

‘Happy Valentines’ All Year Round’ !!!

The Sounds of Water

The sounds of water are very healing and they are considered by many “vibrational nutrients” a medicine for the body, mind, and soul. The calming sounds of water are soothing and induce a state of deep relaxation, helping us not only to clear the mind, but also as a source of creativity and inspiration.

On a rainy day I enjoy listening to the rain drops fall on my window pane; when walking on the beach or by a stream I pay attention to the sounds the water makes: it brings a sense of contentment and inner peace; it kind of help me enter a meditative state that brings on deep relaxation.

In my studio I often have the water fountain on when creating. The sound of running water blocks outside noises and help me better focus on my work, and connects me with my Muse … without Her it’s difficult for me to create …

Growing Tomatoes

We don’t need a large plot to grow our garden vegetables, they can also grow and thrive in small spaces or containers.

I’m growing my tomato plants in the balcony this year. They are planted in containers big enough to hold sufficient water, soil, and nutrients, which the plants need for a healthy growth.

Being around plants and caring for them is very therapeutic, it helps me ground, relax, and enjoy the simple things in life.

Watering them every morning has become a ritual, and it is an easy way for me to relax, find peace, and become fully present in the now moment. I love to be near these little green friends, tending and caring for them. I always feel much better and taller afterwards. And I have a funny feeling that they also enjoy my company!

It will soon be harvesting time: a time when they generously offer themselves to us, and are ready to provide us with all their richness: minerals, vitamins including A ,K, B1, B3, B5, B6 etc. as a way to thank us for the love, care, and dedication we provided them during their life cycle!

Harvesting Season Has Begun!

At this time of year I always collect my favorite herbs and veggies to dry, store, and preserve for winter use.

This is an excellent and easy way my family, friends, and I can still enjoy the goodness of nature even when the snow is piling outside, hibernating my garden during those long winter months. The flavor and some nutritional value are preserved during the drying process, enhancing my meals from morning to night.

I dry a supply of herbs every growing season, just enough to get me through the winter until I can start planting and growing them outside again. thus allowing Gaia’s energy to keep us healthy and happy all year round!

Nature

I feel so much joy when in nature, my problems vanish like magic, and I can feel myself part of something bigger, better, and more meaningful than life’s daily shores and struggles. Nature is very healing, nourishing, calming, and forgiving.

There is an exercise I often do that helps me ground and connect to the core of Mother Earth. I imagine roots stemming out from the base of my spine, down my legs and feet and into the core of earth, going deeper and deeper to the core of Gaia. Then I begin to draw up some of Gaia’s powerful and healing energy, up through the roots, into my feet, my legs, feeling the energy entering every cell of my body, nourishing and connecting me to the core of Mother Earth. This exercise never fails to bring me instant peace, and helps me remember who I really Am!
